Mentoring for Secondary School students
Background
Navigating the teenage years can be challenging for both students and parents. I offer tailored mentoring to support secondary school children through their educational journey, helping them overcome obstacles and build the skills they need to thrive.
As a parent myself, I understand how difficult it can be to support your child’s learning. Although, I am a teacher, I found it much harder to teach my own child in lock down. That experience, among others, is why I think it is so important to be a bridge between parents who want the best for their children and students who need guidance, encouragement, and practical strategies to succeed.
What I Offer
I work closely with students to:
-
Remove barriers to learning and unlock their potential
-
Develop essential skills in organisation, study habits, and resilience
-
Set ambitious goals and stay motivated throughout their academic journey
-
Build confidence and a sense of ownership over their progress
I build relationships with parents to ensure support is aligned and consistent, creating a collaborative environment that nurtures growth.
How It Works
-
Initial Free Consultation: I begin with a conversation with the parents to understand their concerns, goals, and the kind of support their child may need.
-
One-to-One Mentoring: I then meet with the student for personalised sessions, either in-person or online. These are scheduled weekly or fortnightly, depending on the family's preferences and the student’s goals.
-
Flexible Approach: Every mentoring plan is tailored. Whether your child needs short-term support or ongoing guidance, I adapt to what works best for them and for you.
